Thank You Cathy for this terrific forum for us Business Managers that are geared for success...
Here is something I learned early on in my Business Manager days that helped me become an award winning Business Manager:
My insurance rep was training me on his products and he told me something that really hit home when it comes to offering my products to my customers - "If they don't know about it - How can they buy it?"
Well, that hit home big, and after that there was no looking back! Make sure you offer every product, every time, to every customer, and just watch your numbers increase!
All the best to you & Happy New Year!
Linda

Hi Everyone!
I have been in the automotive industry for the last 5 1/2 years doing a variety of Administrative duties and I am very interested and eager to get into the business office. I am very fortunate that Cathy is a good friend of mine and has given me lots of advice as well as contacts to try and help me achieve this goal. I am wondering if anyone knows of a dealership in and around Victoria that would be willing to hire a jr. business manager with no experience in that specific field but would have Cathy Aron training me and guiding me along the way. I have a couple of other references and friends who are business managers and they have told me they will help me as much as they can. One of my bosses described me as an "administrative genius" as I am extremely efficient, organized and I excel at multi-tasking. I am very driven and have a very strong work ethic. I just need to be given an opportunity to get my foot in the door and from there I know I can prove myself. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions, ideas, comments, etc. that may help my quest to become successful as a business manager.

Lisa, your post is appreciated and I would like to refer others to look at it. For those who haven't read Lisa's post yet, let me brief you. I worked with Lisa at a domestic dealership in Victoria during my 3 years there. Whoever described her as an "administrative genius" was right on! Beyond that though Lisa has tremendous people skills and although she hasn't had any experience with direct sales I think she would be very successful because she is a natural people person. As you seasoned, powerful business managers know, success has a lot to do first with your people skills, the sales techniques come second. If there is anyone who knows of a JR. Business Manager position available for someone without experience nor training but with a burning desire to learn and achieve great success, please reply to Lisa! As an example at the Mazda store in Victoria, we have a "JR" business manger position which is predominantly responsible for paperwork but that person also sees overflow customers. It's a fantastic way for a novice to learn the position and relieve the full-time "SR" business manager of the paperwork noose we can sometimes get tangled in. For those of you looking for a candidate like Lisa, I have committed to her that I will train and guide her along the way. Years ago I was in much the same position as Lisa is today. Someone believed in me then and I would be honoured to pass that on to someone I believe in now!
Lisa, I will cut and paste this reply and post it in the body of the blog.
Cheers,
Cathy
